Prevention Programme at the workplace (S.A.F.E. - Substance Abuse-Free Employees)
Q: IS S.A.F.E. DELIVERED DURING THE HOURS OF WORK? HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE? A: The time of delivery of the programme depends on the availability and arrangements made with each firm/place of work. The duration of the programme varies according to request and need of the particular work place. Various professionals will deliver each session, and adequate time will be given to participants to interact with the speakers. Literature will also be distributed. Each session normally takes just over an hour.
Q: WHAT KIND OF HELP IS AVAILABLE FOR EMPLOYEES/EMPLOYERS HAVING A SUBSTANCE ABUSE PROBLEM? A: Whenever an employee presents a substance misuse problem, a referral is made to the respective services offered within the Agency. If the employee agrees, sedqa personnel can liaise with the employers concerned, so that the service is delivered more effectively and with greater support.
Q: HOW IS CONFIDENTIALITY SECURED IF AN EMPLOYEE HAS A SUBSTANCE ABUSE PROBLEM? A: The Agency offers confidential on-going support to both the management and the employees of the enterprise where the S.A.F.E. Programme would have been executed. The Agency's confidentiality code procedure is thoroughly respected.
Prevention School-Based Programmes (Primary Schools)
Q: ARE THESE PROGRAMMES OFFERED TO STATE SCHOOLS ONLY?? A: Services are available to all state, private and church schools.
Q: DO PRIVATE AND CHURCH SCHOOLS HAVE A PAY FOR THESE PROGRAMMES? A: Services are provided free of charge to all schools, including private and church schools.
Prevention School-Based Programme (Secondary Schools)
Q: DO SCHOOLS HAVE TO PAY FOR THESE PROGRAMMES? A: A: As a general rule, all services are provided free of charge. However, there are programmes where a nominal fee is applicable.
