Parenting Skills Course for parents of adolescents by Agenzija Sedqa
Tuesday, September 22, 2009
Agenzija Sedqa will be organizing yet another parenting skills course for parents of adolescents. This will be the second intake this year, after the success of past courses and by request from several parents. This course, coordinated by the Prevention Services of the Agency, is aimed for parents of young people between 11 and 16 years.
The 5-lecture course, to be delivered by professional staff in the respective fields, will deal with topics such as effective communication between parents and adolescents, peer pressure, sexuality, addictions, internet misuse, and the psychological development of young people.
Sessions, which will be in Maltese, will be held on Thursdays, starting on 15th October 2009, between 6.00pm and 8.00pm at Paul Pace Hall, Sedqa Prevention Services, 5, Braille Street, Sta. Venera. A total of 5 sessions will be delivered and a €12 fee per person applies. During these lectures, related educational material will be also distributed.
Such courses are interactive, thus permitting only a limited number of participants. Only few places are still available. Child care facilities for children between 1 and 10 years will also be available.
Those interested in attending for this course may call Ms. Elizabeth Scerri on 2388 5110 or visit www.sedqa.gov.mt for further details. Deadline for applications is Wednesday 14th October 2009.
