Parental Skills Courses by Agenzija Sedqa starting soon

Agenzija Sedqa’s Prevention Services will be organizing new Parental Skills courses in the coming weeks.
Inrabbu ’l Uliedna Ahjar is targeted for parents of children up to 10 years. This six-lecture course will deal with topics such as leadership styles, child development, effective communication within the family, responsible involvement of children in the family, sexuality and substance abuse. Those who wish to attend for this course may choose between the morning sessions which start on Tuesday 26th January between 8.45am and 11.15am or the evening sessions which start on Wednesday 27th January between 5.45pm and 8.00pm.
Another planned course is aimed for parents of young people aged between 11 and 16 years. This course will be spread over five sessions and will discuss issues such as the psychological phases of teenage; effective communication with teenagers; dealing with peer-pressure, media and leisure-time, sexuality during teenage and substance abuse. This course will start on Tuesday 26th January and will be held evenings only between 5.45pm and 8.00pm. Both courses will be delivered in Maltese by professional staff trained in the respective fields. A €12 fee per person applies. During these lectures, related educational material will be also distributed. The venue for both courses will be St. Joseph’s Home, St. Joseph’s High Road, Santa Venera. Child care facilities for children between 3 years and 10 years will also be available.
