Addressing the company representatives present, Mr. Jesmond Schembri, Operations Director, Agenzija Sedqa, said that this ceremony has become a regular event for Agenzija Sedqa. It highlights the fact that Sedqa is not only engaged in the care of persons who are already experiencing problems related to addictive behaviours, but above all, seeks to prevent such problems from happening in the first place. He has also encouraged the various companies present to introduce a formal Policy about the Use of Alcohol and Drugs at their workplace. It is only through such formal policies that workers could be provided such help in a fair and consistent manner without jeopardizing the welfare of their colleagues and their company’s profitability, he concluded. Entities that participated in the S.A.F.E. programme during the above-mentioned period included: Playmobil Malta Ltd., Hilton Malta, Malta Tourism Authority, Id-Dar tal-Providenza, MaltaPost plc., Armed Forces of Malta, Consumer and Competition Department, Courts of Justice, M.E.P.A., Commerce Division, Gozo General Hospital, Carlo Gavazzi Ltd., Simonds Farsons Cisk plc., Inspire, Institute of Tourism Studies, Transport Malta, WasteServ Malta Ltd., Actavis Malta Ltd., Mount Carmel Hospital – Occupational Therapy Department, Crimsonwing Malta Ltd., Premier Restaurants Malta Ltd., and Grand Hotel Excelsior.
